For the last twelve years Mark
Dawson has been motivating, inspiring, educating and entertaining
people all over the world. Mark (a leading authority on issues of
healthy dating, communication, relationships, sexual assault
awareness/education, and leadership) has an ability to capture the
attention and respect from audiences like few other speakers, especially
dealing with sometimes delicate issues.
Mark’s powerful message and his desire
to make a difference began the day a girlfriend confided in him that
she was a rape survivor. He felt helpless and frustrated that he didn’t
know what to do or how to help. Mark immediately began researching and
learning the dynamics of sexual assault. He attended conferences,
training programs dealing with rape and sexual assault, and received
training as a victims advocate. His expanded awareness and knowledge
also opened his eyes to just how many other people in his life had been
affected by sexual assault. Out of this grew Marks passion to speak
out about the issue of sexual assault, and to take a whole new approach.
With his background as Professional
Speaker, Trainer, and Performance Coach (with specialties in leadership,
management, communication, and peak performance), and a seasoned
presenter who has
created and conducted hundreds of seminars, keynotes, and coaching
programs, Mark saw some flaws, challenges, and opportunities in how the
issues of sexual assault, safe dating, consent, etc were being
approached. Since Mark has also been an entrepreneur, business
professional, actor, TV host, model and competitive athlete he decided
to combine all his background and experiences to create a dynamic
new approach and program. Mark created Hookin’ Up and Gettin’
Some. His broad base of life, business and athletic
experiences add to his keen ability to relate to people of all ages and
